Product authentication your customers can check.
NFC tags and secure QR labels give every product a unique identity that customers, retailers and inspectors can verify, helping you detect counterfeits and grey-market goods.
Counterfeits cost more than lost sales.
Counterfeit and diverted products damage brand trust, create warranty and safety risks and make it harder to prove which goods are genuine. Customers and retail partners need a quick way to check a product, and brands need to see where suspicious products turn up.
Anti-counterfeit labels give each item a unique, verifiable identity. The right technology depends on the level of assurance you need, the product, and who will do the checking.
NFC, secure QR and RFID: what each one does.
NFC product authentication
Customers tap the product with a smartphone. NFC tags can be specified with chips that support secure, cryptographic authentication, which makes cloning far harder than copying a printed code. Suitable when higher assurance is needed.
Secure QR labels
Each label carries a unique, serialized QR code that opens a verification page. A printed code can be copied, so security comes from serialization and from monitoring scans, for example the same code being scanned in several countries.
RFID for supply chain checks
UHF RFID lets warehouses and stores verify many items at once without unpacking, useful for detecting diverted or unexpected stock at scale.
Layered labels
Combining technologies, such as NFC for consumers and RFID for logistics, or a secure QR code with brand artwork, lets each user check the product in the way that suits them.
Where authentication labels are used.
Apparel and footwear
Hang tags and labels that combine inventory RFID with consumer verification. RFID for fashion and apparel.
Licensed merchandise
Product-level identities for licensed goods. ZTSPT holds a Disney FAMA (2024) and an NBCU waiver (2025), relevant to licensed merchandise programmes.
Medical and dental products
Serialized labels that support traceability and brand protection. Labels for medical and dental products.
Electronics
Serialized smart labels and BLE tags for warranty validation, repair history and end-of-life recovery.

From risk assessment to roll-out.
- Assess the riskWhere do counterfeit or diverted products appear, and who needs to check them: consumers, retailers, customs or your own team?
- Choose the technologyWe recommend NFC, secure QR, RFID or a combination, plus the label construction.
- Samples and pilotTest the labels and the verification flow with real products and users before scaling.
- Production and encodingUnique codes are encoded and printed under quality control in our ISO 9001:2015 certified facility.
- Monitor and improveUse scan data to spot suspicious patterns, and adjust labels or processes over time.
